The Clanton Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency, with more than 30 dedicated sworn personnel who are committed to reducing crime and maintaining safe and livable neighborhoods. The ideal candidate possesses prior police experience, a college education, military experience, favorable work experiences, clean driving history and great moral character.

CANDIDATES MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must Be a Citizen of the United States or a Resident Alien Who is Legally Authorized to Work in the United States;
  • Must Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalency;
  • Must Be 21 years of Age at Time of Appointment;
  • Applicants Must Possess or Obtain a Valid Alabama Driver's License by Date of Appointment;
  • No Convictions for Crimes of Moral Turpitude;
  • No Convictions for Felony Offenses;
  • APOSTC Preferred, not required;
  • Must Have Completed the APOSTC Basic Abilities Test unless otherwise exempt;
