Police Officer / Reserve Officer

Effective 2/15/2021, Clanton Police Department will begin taking applications for Reserve Officers. The Reserve Officer position is volunteer and equipment is not provided. The application process is completed in the same manner as the Police Officer. Reserve officers work along side Police Officers and perform many of the same tasks during the shift. CANDIDATES MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must Be a Citizen of the United States or a Resident Alien Who is Legally Authorized to Work in the United States;
  • Must Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalency;
  • Must Be 21 years of Age at Time of Appointment;
  • Applicants Must Possess or Obtain a Valid Alabama Driver's License by Date of Appointment;
  • No Convictions for Crimes of Moral Turpitude;
  • No Convictions for Felony Offenses;
  • APOSTC Preferred, not required;
  • Must Have Completed the APOSTC Basic Abilities Test unless otherwise exempt;
